Part one
It’s funny really, because it’s so hard to be thankful something until you realize how lucky you are. This past Friday i was on my way home from school. First Friday off of the school year, was all ready and excited to head out to Depew to watch my first football game of this year. However something different happened. My street, which I have driven down so many times had something else in mind for me other than getting home safely. As I approach the back of a FedEx truck pulled over, I get into the other lane to go around it. As I’m going around it starts to move out in front of me. I did what mostly anyone would do. When i slammed on my brakes I completely lost control of the car. This was one of the scariest things. I have never been in a real car accident before. Luckily I didn’t hit the truck but instead, I spun, took out a mailbox, and the back of my car slammed into a telephone pole. When the car finally came to a stop I was in such shock. I didn’t know what to think. Everything happened so fast. Everything had happened so fast. Before i knew it many people were outside surrounding my car checking to see if I was okay. I felt fine, but all I wanted was my mom. I couldn’t get a hold of anyone in my family. One of my brothers friends drove by and went right to my house to get my brother. A trooper showed up and asked questions and everything that was going on was really so scary. My car that I had worked so hard for was completely totaled and looking at it just made me cry. As scary as it was it made me thankful to be alive.
