AA. Dog Fighting

                Dog fighting is a truly disgusting thing that people do. It is hard to wrap my mind around the fact that someone would intentionally get a dog and train it to attack and kill. All my life I have been around dogs. And yes there are some dogs that bite people and are aggressive but it normally because they are just protective. But to take a dog and make it into a vicious killer is sickening. Dogs only want attention and love from humans, but when humans take them and make the aggressive it is awful.

Lately in buffalo there have been many instances of dog fighting. Dead dogs have been being discovered in Cheektowaga cemeteries. City sanitation workers have found dead dogs in garbage cans on the east side. Last month a dead dog was found hanging in the basement of a home on the east side. After a necropsy by the SPCA it was found that the dog was still alive when it was hanged. This makes me so angry because no person or animal should go through such abuse, especially when it is for “entertainment” of sick people.

                Dog fighting really needs to come to an end. A buffalo police man was arrested for breeding and training dogs to fight. People that we have in authority of keeping people in line and following the law are partaking in such terrible activities. Dog fighting is so inhumane and really needs to be stopped all together. The only way to end dog fighting is for people who know or suspect it is going on to report it. We need to help these animals who can’t defend themselves.

                Pit-bull have a very bad reputation. It is very sad because they are very loving animals except when they are trained to be vicious. The pit-bulls aren’t dangerous; it’s the humans that are.
